How can I get my parents to stop smoking?

I`ve been getting quite worried about my parents for some time now. They smoke about 15-20 cigarettes a day and have been since they were 15 years old. Two of my grandparents have died of cancer, probably because of smoking, some years ago. I really don`t want them to die. So if anyone have any good suggestions so that I can get them to stop, please tell me. They have tried to quit smoking before, but I`m not sure how motivated they acctually were…

What’s the best way to stop a 70-80 year old woman to stop smoking?

I lost my grandpa when I was 6 because of Cancer and my grandma smokes as much as he used to. What’s the best way to stop her from smoking? I don’t want her to be known as a smoker.

How to stop someone from smoking?

So my friend pissed me off yesterday so i took his cigarrettes and dipped them in a tank of gasoline and let them dry out. I had second thoughts about giving them back to him and watching him burn the shit outta his face, but then someone pointed out that this could be a good way to get him to stop smoking. Is this a good idea? Its better that he get burned a little now instead of getting cancer later on right?

How Do I Make My Dad Quit Smoking ?

Please help me, i am sick of this. My dad have been smoking since he was 15 and now he is 42. He knows that smoking is bad for him and that it causes several kinds of cancer, but he just wont quit it. I asked him why wont he quit, but he didnt tell me. he said he is not addicted and that he can quit it easily but he doesnt want. any ways to make him stop smoking ? i love my daddy so much , i dont wanna lose him.

My dad has been smoking for more than 30 yrs. Now a mass was found in his lungs. If this is cancer, should he stop smoking abruptly? I heard that if you stop smoking abruptly, then there is a bigger chance of developing cancer. Can anybody confirm this. Is quitting gradually more advisable? Thanks

How do I get someone to stop smoking?

How can I tell someone to stop smoking? She knows all the facts (it gives you cancer, emphysema, etc.), but she is young, so she still has that invincible mentality. What can I tell her about smoking’s cosmetic effects that will make her consider quitting? (besides the usual stains your teeth and your hands)

How do i help my best friend quit smoking?

My best friend has started smoking, he says it calms him down when he’s stressed. I have asked why he started and he just said he’s had a rough life. I don’t want him to get cancer. He told me he would try to stop for me but i know that he wont stop and he cant stop for me he needs to want to stop. How can i help him?

THURSDAY, June 30 (HealthDay News) — Annual low-dose CT scans cut the death rate from lung cancer by 20 percent in heavy smokers and formerly heavy smokers, compared to those who get annual chest X-rays, according to the results of a major National Cancer Institute study released on Wednesday.
