Has anyone else ever had this kind of a headache?

It’s happened to me twice within the last week or so- I’ll be sitting doing nothing specific and all of a sudden, shooting from the middle of the back of my neck upward into my brain stem I feel this huge pain. It only last for a few minutes, but it’s absolutely excruciating. I can hardly function during these events. It’s some of the worst pain I’ve felt in a very long time. I’ve been stressed out recently and kind of depressed, but I’ve never experienced anything like this in relation to depression in the past, and I just stopped smoking (completely, through hypnotherapy) two weeks ago. I’m not sure if the sudden movement from smoking to not smoking would cause headaches or migraine-like episodes. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? There are no other symptoms, really. Nothing is out of the ordinary. Just the headaches.

Headaches are a very common withdrawal symptom when giving up any sort of addictive substance. However it is always best to have a check-up with your local Doctor just to be on the safe side.
