What were somethings that you had to overcome after you quit smoking?
I quit smoking about 5 months ago… (I am so proud of myself) I feel so much healthier and a whole lot better about myself!
It feels so weird to not get that ‘”break” to get away from something. To deal with things! Sometimes, I get so moody….
I know I have to stay positive! Lol… Quiting feels so good! So would you please tell me your story! How did you learn to calm yourself? If you put on some weight did you lose it after sometime? Do you feel more alive? How has your life changed since you quit?

Congrats! I quit about 2 years ago the same day I quit drinking. Anyway I do feel much more alive and food tastes better, I can breathe better and have more energy. One thing that happened to me that kinda shocked me was about 5 or 6 months after I first quit I had a series of dad colds and sore throats and stuff. I went to the doctor and told him whats with all these colds and me feeling worse instead of better. He said that for all the years I smoked all the germs just cling to the tiny hair (cilia) in you lungs and stayed there untill you quit smoking and after while they start to release and go sometimes into the bloodstream making you ill. Maybe it wont happen but if it does don’t worry it will go away. Your lungs will clean right out. I did gain about 20 lbs or so but thats cus I eat a lot of junk food. Good luck to you!
I quit smoking about 8 months ago myself. One problem I’ve had is that, when I’m in a situation where I normally would have lit up, I still get small cravings.
Mila, I am very proud of you also. After 5 months, there should be no thought that you will ever start smoking again. Have you noticed that everything that you eat tastes better? That was the first thing that I noticed about how much smoking can dull our senses. A question for you; if there was one thing that caused you to continue smoking, do you know what it is? Hint, if you could not do this you could not have any habits what-so-ever. The answer is…Memory. If you could not remember that you smoked, would you be able to light up another cigarette? NO, you would not. Thinking is memory. Can you think of something if you cannot remember it? Can you remember something if you cannot think of it? No, on both counts. So quit thinking about the smoking habit or you are going to drive yourself to start smoking again. You do not smoke cigarettes anymore, so FORGET about them!
