Keep yourself busy! break up your regular routine find something to do like for example if you alwys smoke after you eat go for a walk instead or come up with something that will distract you from smoking and make that your new routine….chewing gum is alright but eating sun flower seeds works waaay better
No the withdrawels will not make you miscarry…lol. The patch does and will work for you it did for me. But seeing how you cant get it yet, think about this. Picture that little baby with a cigarrette in its mouth. Now think of all the smoke thats going in his underdeveloped lungs. If that doesnt make you stop then i dont know what will. Im not being mean so please dont think that. I know how hard it is to quit. I smoked for 15 years and when i got pregnant i quite. It wasnt so ba really i just ate alot! I just couldnt see my baby suffering from his mama smoking..
im still tryin to quit at 19 weeks, i make everyone go outside to smoke so i dont have to smell it. and i keep alot of munchies around (healty ones) to keep my mouth buisy, check your area for suport groups. like quit assist. it is only hard on your baby if you get them addicted. my doc says its better for baby to if you quit no matter the withdrawls, if you dont get baby addicted then you dont have to put baby through withdrawls
Just quit, it is the fastest and best way, cold turkey. Stop buying them and dont bum them from anyone. Dont be around anyone smoking. I used sunflower seeds to help me when I wanted one. Find something that you like to replace them, gum, sugar free candy, water, raisins, something like that that keeps your hands and mouth occupied until the urge goes away. It takes about a month to get over the chemical dependency , and its much easier after that, because its out of recent memory. Good choice to quit, and good luck. You will be happier for it.
I think you should be more worried about the adverse effects on your baby, the with-drawls won`t make you miscarry.
the patch you can buy over the counter aswell as nicotine gum.
but if I were you I would just make the switch in your brain, that this baby is more important than smoking. everybody has the power they just have to want to quit, and being pregnant is enough reason for any loving mom to quit.
you don`t want to have to live with fact that your baby could be born with low birth weight and have alot of problems because you smoked duing pregnancy-that is a burden you will be reminded of everytime you see you child-which will be everyday, for the rest of your life.
think about it.
you can quit-you can do it!!!

Back in the 50′s and 60′s, moms smoked all the time and the kids did not get hurt.
