I quit smoking a month before I conceived my first child, although I wasnt actively TTC. It was just time for me to quit. I smoked 3 1/2 packs of menthol EVERY day. It is hard no matter when you do it. Congratualtions on your succes at it!

I don’t drink or smoke, but know people who have for their baby. The most I’ve had to quit is coffee, and that was hard enough for me!

I was a smoker up until i found out i was pregnant, i quit right away. I know it’s not easy, but what helped motivate me was that…….. i had a little baby inside of me that would be effected by me smoking……. i always told myself when i had a craving that, It was my choice to smoke, not my baby’s… Just stay strong, and try to keep yourself occupied when you want to smoke, and try to stay away from those who do smoke. If your lucky like me, most of my pregnancy at this point the smell of smoke makes me sick to my stomach, which is very helpful. As for drinking i never was a big drinker i would drink when i went out sometimes but other than that it never bothered me, so not having a drink isn’t a big deal at all for me. Keep it up! your doing the best thing for your baby use that as your motivation, your baby does not want to smoke a ciggerrette lol!

I am pregnant and have not had a drink since I found out. It has not been hard for me, because I know it is what is best for the baby.

I quit both. I also used to drink often and smoke. (Smoking wasn’t that hard to quit, I only smoked about 5 -10 a day) But for some reason I am craving caffine like coffee and redbull. I did some research and I can have caffine in moderation and I am staying away from the redbull. The funny thing is I didn’t drink much caffine before I got pregnant (like 1-2 coffees a MONTH)

I quit both the day I found out. I was a pack and a half a day smoker and I drank about once a week. I’m not going to sugar coat it, it’s very hard. I am 21 weeks so I quit 17 weeks ago and I still think about smoking and having a drink but no matter how strong the cravings are I would never act on it. I chew gum and suck on hard candy alot. They also sell alcohol fre wine and beer. Those are safe to drink. Congrats on quitting and stick to it! It will get better

    Hi
I have never smoked so I did not have to quit that. I can understand how hard that might be.
I am not a big drinker either but have completely given up any alcoholic drink. It would have been nice to have a wine on new years eve but I didn’t mind too much.
The hardest thing for me to give up was tea and coffee and eating soft cheese which I love.
    Congratulations.

I’m 23 weeks pregnant and still smoke but I have cut down. I have had 3 alcoholic drinks since being pregnant. I hardly drank before I got pregnant anyway.
