How long till i go back to feeling normal after i quit smoking weed?

It’s been 2 days since I quit and I’ve smoked a few times almost every day for the past couple years. I just don’t feel right and I’ve been dealing with the urge to smoke. Will this eventually go away and will I stop having the feeling that I just want to smoke? I know marijuana isn’t addicting but i still have that want to smoke still and it’s making quitting hard.

    I smoked every day for 20 years.
    I just stopped one day cold turkey and have not smoked for several years now.

    I had a lot of trouble sleeping for the first few weeks and had some very lucid dreams.
    After a while i started looking forward to these dreams and within a month I had no craving or desire to smoke at all. I dont miss it what so ever and now I sleep very well.

    Its not that it was a bad thing but it was a motivation zapper. If you can find a new hobbie to help you pass some time you will be fine.

    First of all congratulations for quitting!

    The first 3 days are usually the hardest but it will get easier to deal with and your body should start returning to normal within 12 months, The best thing to do is to keep yourself busy or take up some form of exercise and maybe even try chewing gum when you have the urge to smoke, They say when you give up one addiction you replace it with another, but not all addictions are bad for you. You could replace it with something healthy or find an activity that gives you the same amount of pleasure.

    this will depend largley on how long you have been a regular user/abuser of the substance. You will have a residual buildup in the body and this will need to run down before you can expect to feel it be going away and the urge to stop will occur as soon as the mind allows this. Avoid all company and habits associated with the habit for the time it takes to stop “wanting” the smoke and mentally work out the reasons you began using and resolve them instead of avoiding/running from them as the affects in the longer term are far worse. Get off the Green stuff now for a better life overall.
