How do I get my mom to stop smoking cigarettes?
I would really rather not have my mom smell like smoke. She also lies and says that she will never smoke again. She ALWAYS does. Help me and my mom.

the best thing you can do is stop pestering her. annoying someone about smoking just makes them want to smoke. remember your mother is an adult and makes her own decisions. love her for who she is and stop judging her.
Only your Mom can make the decision to stop smoking. It is so addictive and one of the hardest habits to break. so when she is successful even for just a day…be supportive. The more times that a person tries to quit, the more likely they are to succeed eventually.
I’m sorry, but you cannot force someone to quit smoking.
Addictions are even more powerful than emotions. But if she truly WANTS to quit, she will.
In the meantime, every time you mention it to her, she will light another cigarette in retaliation.
I know because I am an ex-smoker.
:S

How ’bout instead of trying to get your mom to quit, ask her if she would be willing to try an alternative to smoking. I was a smoker for 30 years and I switched to the electronic cigarette.
She will still get the nicotine her body craves without all the harmful chemicals found in cigarette tobacco. There is no secondhand smoke and no smell. And it’s a lot cheaper than buying cigarettes.
This thing is really cool and really works. Have her visit the website below to find out more about it.
I’m sorry to hear that your mom’s smoking is bothering you. It is often very difficult to see a love one pick up an unhealthy habit. It is even more disheartening to see your mom lie in front of your eyes. What you must understand is that cigarettes is an addiction, and it is not easy for a smoker to stop smoking. I too have a mother that smokes and I’m very allergic to the smell. I can smell cigarettes hours after they have been smoked. The best advice I can give you is for you to try your best to be very supportive, and realize that her cigarette smoking won’t go away over night. Your mom has to be the one that wants to quit. You can also offer her healthier alternatives. Electronic Cigarettes have no tobacco, no cancer causing agents, and no smell. This can be a step in the right direction for your mom. You can get some from http://buye-cigarettes.com I got some for my mother at that site, and they were very professional, and prompt with delivery.
