how can you get the following person to quit smoking?
my grandpa’s been smoking for atleast 40 years. he quit a lot of times before, but kept going back because of the habit. he is a doctor and everyone keep pestering him about smoking, so he knows what it does to him.he looks ancient, but he’s only like 60 or something. how can we get him to stop?
he drinks too.

all you can do is tell him that you are afraid of him dying because of his smoking and drinking and you know that it must be really really hard to stop and stay stopped.
Try hypnosis or acupuncture. If other methods have failed try an “alternative” treatment.
You really can’t make a person quit smoking.
They have to do it on their own.
Nagging people to quit just makes them defensive and less likely to quit.
