How can I quit smoking, and what are the best ways to avoid cravings?
I started smoking for a little less than a year, and I smoke a pack of 20 over a 4 days period, sometimes a week. I want to quit but I start smoking once I get bored. What is the best way to get over these cravings and avoid going back to smoking.

You’re going to need will power for one and two you’ll need nicotine reducing patches. Cold turkey quitting is VERY hard.
There are many proven ways to quit smoking. To boost your chances of quitting, choose more than one method. Pick what seems right for you. Each person is different. You’ll know what will work best for you.
Proven quit smoking methods:
1. Join a support group for people trying to quit. Research shows that people in quit-smoking support groups are more likely to quit for good. (Find out about quit smoking support groups in your area).
2. Get individual counseling in person or by phone. You can get counseling in person or over the phone, through a free smoker’s quitline.
3. Take nicotine replacement therapy (NRT). The nicotine patch, gum, lozenge or inhaler replaces some of the nicotine you usually get from cigarettes. This can make nicotine withdrawal easier to manage.
4. Ask your doctor about a prescription medicine called bupropion. It’s an antidepressant that can make it easier to quit.
I personally recommend you try bupropion. I buy it here in this online store:

Try to quit smoking in a natural manner instead of stop-start manner which is very effective. Check out here how to stop smoking in a natural way

Cold turkey is the best. There are also other options used by smokers like the electronic cigarette (a leading e-cigarette brand is Janty – http://www.jantyworld.com) which gives the user nicotine yet without the tobacco and the secondhand smoke. The electronic cigarette functions similar to a cigarette; you draw on it, and it emits a water-based SMOKE-LIKE VAPOR (NOT real smoke) just to simulate the smoking experience and satisfy the associated smoking behaviors smokers have become attached to. The liquid solution being vaporized is called e-liquid, which comes in differing nicotine concentrations, from zero (0mg), 11mg, 16 mg, 24 mg to like 36 mg.. But e-cigarette users or “vapers” should note their nicotine intake, so they won’t overuse. There are vapers that go for the nicotine level similar to the regular cigarette they were using and gradually DECREASE their nicotine level until they slowly quit the nicotine altogether. So first step is that they are tobacco free and then it is up to them to gradually go for a zero-nicotine e-liquid to be nicotine-free.
the craving for a cigarette is only an illusion and once you smoked your very first cigarette you created a little nicotine monster inside of you and everytime you “crave” a cigarette, it’s really the nicotine monster that wants it’s fix so you give in and light a cigarette. You dont enjoy it and dont know why you smoke and when you think a cigarette makes you feel better, helps you concentrate more, relieves boredom and relaxes you then you are wrong. Smoking causes all of this and that’s the illusion!
Giving up using the methods “cold turkey” and “Will Power” are the completely wrong ways to go about it as you will feel deprived for the rest of your life.
You have to think to yourself “I am not giving up anything”
You are not making a sacrifice as cigarettes do absolutely nothing for you and when you feed that little monster its nicotine you dont feel any better do you?
It’s all about you being in control and turning against the cigarette and saying to yourself “I will not be a slave anymore and I dont care how much this monster wants its fix I will starve it to death and be free.
Do not use nicotine gum, patches etc as this will only prolong the life of the monster and you will without doubt be back a smoker.
When you decide to have your final cigarette, after a while you will feel withdrawals, the nicotine rapidly leaves your body and you will obviously feel like you want a smoke, but instead of thinking “I want a smoke” think more like “I am a non smoker yay!!!
I was a smoker of 20 a day for 14 years and gave up reading the Allen Carr book, his method as absolutely unique I promise!
