Has anyone tried Chantix or been successful with any other stop smoking methods?

I’ve read Easy Way by Allen Carr, but I couldn’t stick with it. Never tried any gum or patches, but I’m sure they wouldn’t help me quit nicotine. Any other suggestions or home remedies? I hear Chantix works but the side effects are absurd. Any Chantix experiences would be nice and any suggestions of how they were successful quitting would be nice too.

My mom used chantix, and she’s gone over a month without a cigarette. However, she is one of the unlucky ones who had nausea and severe constipation because of it. However, they think her’s was only made worse by the fact that she has a neurological disorder and it started to affect her, since nothing has helped her constipation. Not even that liquid they give you when you need a colonoscopy to clear you out…
She’d never take it again, but it definitely has helped her. She didn’t even need to take it the full 3 to 6 months that they say you need it, and she’s still going strong.

i quit cold turkey about 27 years ago from a 2 pack a day habit.
My husband used the patches back when they were only available by prescriptions.
    Both methods worked for us.
My son ion law is currently in a study and he is either using Chantix or a placebo, he does not know which, but he hasn’t smoked in about 2 weeks and hasn’t killed anybody yet so I would call that a success.
My oldest grand daughter quit about 3 years ago using Chantix and it worked very well for her. She had no side effects.
The other gal talked about side effects from the chantix but some of those effects are also from not having nicotine in your system.
I too was sick to my stomach and I had shaky hands and was constipated when I quit and I used nothing. Nicotine activates your bowels and when you first quit, it can make you constipated. Nothing to do with Chantix.

I smoked on and off for about 30 years and hated it. The crazy thing was that I worked in the Mental Health field and taught Stop Smoking Classes for about 6 years. I tried hypnosis, acupuncture the patch and then finally ended up with Nicorette Gum. I tried the gum last because I had never been a person who chewed gum but thought I give it a try. I started with the 4 mg chewing about 6 pieces a day and it really worked. I stopped smoking 9 years ago and feel great. The only problem is that now I am hooked on the gum but I don’t really care. I think it is just a habit now and I chew the 2 mg Nicorette Gum and only use 2 or 3 pieces a day. I tried many times unsuccessfully to stop the gum and finally decided that I am fine with it and I am sure eventually I will stop the gum because it is rather expensive.

Don’t give up trying to quit because smoking is a nasty habit and terrible for your health. Good luck.

I don’t know about Chantix. I was finally able to quit smoking using hypnosis. It has the absolute best results of any stop smoking method. There is a study that proves this!
