Has anyone ever taken Chantix to help them stop smoking?

If so did you stop smoking and what were the side effects if any? I am about to start taking it and want to know from someone who has taken it before.

yes, I took it, am still taking it as you are supposed to continue with it for 12 weeks. The tapering on and off is really a good idea it can upset the stomach if you start with full dose right away. I also go very vivid dreams from it. And YES I quit smoking, first thing that has worked for me in thirty years!!!

When you start Chantix you need to adapt your body during 7 days (you can keep smoking during this time), but you need to choose a “quit date” when you will stop smoking.

    Side Effects:

The most frequently reported adverse events (>10 percent) with CHANTIX were nausea, headache, insomnia, and abnormal dreams.

My husband is on it now. It’s working wonderfully. He did have very odd and vivid (not frightening, just weird) dreams for a bit, and went through some withdrawal symptoms but now (after about 2 months) feels very little desire to smoke. When he does have a cigarette he doesn’t enjoy it and takes fewer drags, and puts it out sooner.
