Can I live longer if i quit smoking? Do cigerretes really take years of life away?

Hello.
There are so many people smoking these days and I was wondering how many of these people get cancer or something.
How long could I live if i quit now? COuld i live to be 99 years old at least?
Im 29 years old. What about somebody whos 66 and if they quit how long could they live?

You’ve damaged your lungs and increased chances for diseases and things like cancer. Pneumonia will be easier to get and harder to fight off. Chronic Bronchitis could be a problem in life. You will add years to your life, and quality of your life.

I think in general this statement is true.
I’ve known a man that has smoked for many decades and has died of cancer. It was discovered may too late to be cured successfully. He has not had any health issues in his life. But he didn’t eat very healthy either.

I think that smoking does take away years of your life. Now other factors as what you eat and where you live (city/country) and how much you exercise and sleep influence your life span too..

    cheers
