Any advice on kicking the smoking habit?
I would really like to quit smoking and am taking welbutrin to help but still can't seem to stop. any ideas to aid me in my quest to stop smoking?

It's hard but it takes mind power and a true willingness. keep yourself occupied whenever the urge gets to you. It's tough to kick a nicotine addiction.
Have you seen the commercial with the man who has a hole in his throat? that will do it…
Daily go to the hospital…
move to new york where they are 6.00 a pack,that will make anyone quit
All successful quitters I've known……….quit cold turkey……
Good luck and pray a lot, get your hands to doing other things, stay away from places you have opportunity to smoke.

I would have hated someone like me to answer this question while I was smoking for over THIRTY years, but my 8 year old granddaughter asked me to stop a year ago on July 11. I put them down and never picked up another one. Everytime wanted to, I only had to imagine her disappointed and scared (she learned at school that smoking will kill her granny) face and I have gone almost a year. I am very proud of myself and so is Kimberlyn Hannah. I think the trick is finding something even more important to you. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!! It is hard!!!
taking a substitute is not a remedy, but looking within is what will help. I f u can go back to what u thought about smoking when u picked ur first cigrete, u will realise what u get out of smoking. Now if u be sincere to yourself, u will see that, its what u think u would get from smoking, but in reality, u are weakening ur true self and not getting what u wanted. By smoking again and again u are further strengthening the unfulfilled desire instead of attaining what u really want . in physical sense u r conjuring up the lungs and covering up what u really want to express/say/comunicate. I know it from experience.

You have to be in a environment of non smokers. and your friends and family can encourage you through it.
You should find a replacement for the cigarette. Example every time you have a craving you can drink a glass of water, or do a couple a sit ups/push ups, eat a fruit.

I DO NOT KNOW TO MUCH BUT AM GOING THROUGH THE SAME SITUATION, TAKING SOMETHING THAT MAY ALSO BE FOR SLIGHT DEPRESSION DOES NOT SEEM TO BE THE WAY IN MY OPINION, YOU REALLY HAVE TO WANT IT, ITS MORE OF a HABIT THAN AN ADDICTION RIGHT? FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO DO DURING THOSE TIMES LIKE WHEN YOU GET IN YOUR CAR AND WHEN YOU FINISH EATING, BEFORE YOU KNOW IT WHEN THAT FIRST TEN MINUTES OF YOUR NORMAL SMOKING PERIOD HAVE PASSED YOU'LL PROBABLY FORGET YOU WERE EVEN THINKING ABOUT IT. PLUS HAVING FRESH BREATH FOR a WHILE AFTER YOU HAVE BRUSHED YOUR TEETH AND SMELLING GOOD ALL DAY SHOULD BE INCENTIVE ENOUGH.
