I think thats very unhealthy… Just let your friends help you or BET like everytime you spoke, you gotta pay 10$ to your friend or ask a doctor to help you :]

your friend is not helping you at all…don’t even do that. Go about it the right way.Either get the patch or the gum….personally I’ve tried both and it did not help…so I just cold turkey ed it.I traded walking for smoking , and its been five years now with no desire for a smoke ..no withdrawals either. Its all in how bad you want to quit.

Well, not sure really… maybe it does work:-) Don’t know if they’re bullsh;tt;ng you – is that how they quit? Feel free to try it – I’d be curious to find out how you went. Personally though, I’d try something else…
Cold turkey is good – but you need to do it a little differently. People usually go cold turkey and then expect to go through a withdrawal period in which they need to use willpower to fight the constant urges to smoke again – and that’s exactly what happens. But this kind of mindset just sets you up for a potentially very long battle. The truth is that the real physical withdrawal symptoms are gone within 3 days (most within just a day). The real problem is in your head – it’s hard because you expect it to be. You need to be happy with your decision to quit and expect to feel good!
You just need to sort out your head BEFORE you quit. It’s all about your mindset. Be glad you don’t have to do that anymore – that you are getting rid of this filthy addiction. Never think you will miss it – that’s what makes it hard. But instead see yourself as happy, content and proud that you’ve done it.
If you prepare yourself properly, you can easily override the withdrawal pangs completely and it won’t bother you at all to even be in situations or with people where before you smoked. I know that from experience. When I quit my partner and plenty of my friends were still smoking all around me – no problem at all.
Here’s what you need to do in very, very short form:
    1. Decide that you get nothing out of smoking (it’s only the truth)
    2. Pick a quit-date so you have some time to prepare
    3. Look forward to quitting (get excited about it)- essential!
    4. Quit… easily
