Gradually…
No matter what anyone says, people who do not smoke cannot understand how hard it is to quit. Don’t make yourself suffer and put yourself under alot of pressure just to fail.
Smoke 10 ciggs today, 9 tomorrow,8 the next day (etc.)
i had been smoking for a long time when i found out i was pregnant. that day i stopped, just like that. yeah its hard, and yeah youll crave, get irritable, cranky, whatever. but what you need to think about is your child. smoking can cause lung problems, and even misscarriage. i wouldnt take that risk. as a matter a fact, when i got that positive pregnancy test, i havnt craved for a cigarette one time. everytime you take a puff of that cigarette so is your baby. every hit off the cigarette is constricting blood flow and oxygen to your unborn baby. NOTHING good can come out of that. just get your priorities straight, and do whats healthy and right for your baby.
This might be the hardest thing you have ever done in your life. You may not be able to do it alone. If you need support, get it first.
Check out your local resources, including your OB/GYN. There are often support groups in local areas which might be able to help.
You must really want to do this if your are going to succeed. Convince yourself first, then your partner and family and friends.
If you have nothing else to rely upon, check out reliable web sites the ones below:
My Dr. told me not to quit. Quitting causes stress and will harm the
baby. So I cut back to 5-7 a day. The result. 3 pregnancies, 3 big
and healthy babies. All because I listened to my Dr. His advice
benefited my children.
about15 years ago i just said to myself no more smoking. since then i quit smoking
First of all you need to take responsibilty and just quit for your babies health.
