Whats the best way to help/convince my 17 year old boyfriend to quit smoking?

He’s been smoking for 2 or 3 years and i don’t want him to have problems in the future. But he complains that quiting is too hard and he acts differently when he’s off them. He’s an intelligent hard-working guy and this should not be his future. Any ideas how I could effectively help him?
forgot — these are cigarettes and NOT weed! sorry didn’t say that before. He already quit that. And leaving him is not an option because I love him and this is his only flaw.

you cant help him.He ll have to understand that by himself and decide to quit smoking
Tell him it’s the weed or you. What happens if he’s smoking some day while the 2 of you are going someplace, and he gets stopped by the cops? You’ll likely get busted too. Are you willing to risk that?
And if he says it’s too hard, then he’s addicted. Do you want to date an addict?
Move on – he may be a great guy, but this is a deal-buster for me. There’s more guys out there, especially if you’re only 17.
As the second poster said, give him an ultimatum.
just tell him that most women dont want to marry a man that smokes, that worked for my folks, my dad told my mom he would never marry anyone that smoked and so she quit just to marry him
DONT HAVE SEX WITH HIM.OR ANY OTHER SEXUAL STUFF
