The patch or the gum. Neither is the real solution; the real cure is your willpower.

I quit about a thousand times, and then one time it just worked. After two weeks I never wanted another cigarette. That was 32 years ago.

It’s different for everyone. You may need to try a few different things if one doesn’t work. My mother started by smoking less and less every day.until she was down to just chewing the nicorette gum. Some people like the patch others just quit cold turkey which may or may not work. It might take a few tries to quit but dont give up, there are other options your doctor may be able to help you with.

Well I can tell u to try the nicotine gum and or patches and then u must be into it like something u wont give up till the urges are gone

Also consoling is great tool with others if u talk to people that had their lives ruined by smoking maybe it will cause you ticker in you head to say STOP

There is a new prescription drug out called Chantix. I’ve never smoked but my friend had smoked for decades and was able to quit within about a month (and hasn’t gone back for a year and a half). She calls it her “lifesaver”. You’ll have to get a prescription from your doctor but in the long run it’s worth it! Best of luck to you!!!

The first time I “quit,” and made it a year and a half, I had used the nicotine patch. This time (almost a year), I used Chantix, a prescription drug. My husband and I both used it. I had smoked for a total of over ten years. My husband had smoked probably 15 years. We thought Chantix made it about as “easy” as quitting smoking could possibly be. I have a few friends who just quit and did not use any aids. I don’t know how they did it!

Okay im only answering this because i know, The way i quit smoking was finding a hobbie to replace it which for me was working out, and i also replaced it with gum after meals because i had a tendecy to smoke after i ate. It will not be easy you have to believe in yourself it is only in your head..

It’s easier if you to really truly want to quit. That helps alot. It can be done, though, even if you NEED to- more than you WANT to. If you are having trouble, the website ‘www.smokefree.gov’ has alot of info.

    Good Luck!

    Cold Turkey.

Cut down first, set a limit of cigarettes. Slowly smoke down the limit until you hit the last one. Savor it. Don’t repeat taking a puff and putting it out. Smoke it all. Once you’re done take a deep breathe and know that you’re looking at a few weeks of hell. Don’t forget that last cigarette, cherish the memory. Keep it in your mind that you have the will to do this, you have the strength. If you smoke a cigarette that cherished moment is gone forever. Take pride in not smoking. Remember that you can no longer say ‘one cigarette won’t hurt’, because it will.

It’s all about the strength and will, the power you have over the cigarettes. “I WILL WIN!” “I WILL BEAT IT!” Never think you’ve beatin it, even years down the road.

    Worked for me.
