What is the most effective method to quit smoking?

I am 21 years old. I have been a smoker since I was 10. I can already feel the long-term effects of the smoking habit. I am constantly distracted, always feeling unwell and I occasionally wake in the middle of the night because I can’t breathe properly. I need help!!! ANY advice will be gladly accepted

Most effective way = just stop smoking.

    Not that hard, dummy.

I wouldn’t quit at this point.

Considering you’ll probably get lung cancer and die by 30, even if you stop today, you might as well keep doing what you enjoy doing until that happens.

It’s a bit too late for doing anything else, sorry.

Whyquit.com will tell you that it is cold turkey, and i have to agree. I am on day two of quitting and i’m doing it cold turkey. The success rate is much higher. Also alot of people get addicted to the replacements. I’ve been smoking over a pack and a half for eight years (besides when i was pregnant). If you go to that website i’m serious it will really make you want to quit. good luck. oh and as for the main question, alot of people told me the gum works the best.

After reading ‘Allen Carr’s Easy Way To Stop Smoking’ I quit cold turkey 11 days ago with very little withdrawal. It was proof to me that much of quitting is psychological and you just have to have the right perspective. The author is an ex chain smoker himself who’s method has helped millions quit. Give it a shot. Good luck.
