What do you say if your girlfriend wants you to quit smoking cigars?

Now, I don’t smoke often. I’d say I smoke about one cigar a month. She doesn’t like it, but I just can’t throw away all of my cigars I’ve had for years (30 count). They’re more than a hobby, they’re a passion. I’m having a hard time convincing her that I don’t get carried away with my cigars and that I always enjoy them for special occasions only. Hell I even have a cigar laid out (aged 9 years) for when we get married. Some help please.

Tell her you will get rid if the cigars if she gets rid of all her shoes/makeup/hair care whatever she cares about . You care as much about your cigars as she does about her stuff and it is important that she understand that.
Dump her. If she’s that controlling over cigars, it will only get worse.
Get rid of them for yourself if not for her. Is dying from a cancer that ravages throughout your lungs and organs really worth it? How about having your tongue cut out or half your face missing because of the cancer that eats holes through your flesh? I’m not crazy. I’ve seen it many times up close and personal working in this line of the medical field. Its gross, its sad, and its a REALLY PAINFUL WAY TO SUFFER AND DIE!!!!
It sounds like your girlfriend is a nag (no offense) and if you give in to this damand she’ll keep making more damanding requests to change you. Smoking a cigar once or twice a month is not an addiction and it’s sure not gonna kill you so my advice is this tell yer you’ll give up smoking cigars if she’ll shave her head bald. That will shut her up
I think she needs to learn how to choose her battles. I mean, seriously, you’re smoking once a month??? That doesn’t even qualify as an annoying habit!
It’s just something she’ll just have to deal with.

Don’t try to justify your hobby/passion because; most likely you can’t.
I’m sure you will have the opportunity to compromise on something you don’t like in the future.

I would tell the B!TCH to shut up and that you are an adult and u do what you want! It would be understandable if you smoked every minute on the minute but jeeze once a flippin month? She just sounds pathedic!!!
Send her to the curb.

Let me start by saying that I agree and admire your use of the word passion when referring to your cigar smoking. Cigars are an art form. I had a girlfriend who hated my cigar smoking, so I always had gum and axe with me when I smoked so it couldn’t bother her. Everyone has their hobbys and cigar smoking is one that I have. Not everyone likes it so I make sure I don’t subject others to it if they don’t like it.
I do not think you should give it up, it is something you enjoy and a healthy relationship is built around mutuality and compromises. You just have to be considerate when smoking so it does not bother her.
