I am attending some quit smoking classes. I only started going to get the free nicotine replacement stuff they offer but have found the class very helpful. I have not had a cig in over 3 weeks.
I have tried everything from hypnosis, acupuncture, welbuterin, zyban (same as welbuterin), patches, gum, YOU NAME IT!!! I was recently introduced to Chantex. Its a pill but there arent any major side effects.. I was of coarse skeptical because the three people that had taken it said I would be smoke free in 7 days. YEAH RIGHT LOL, I took it and (im not kidding you) on day 8 I woke up and was like, “Hmm I will just see if I can go 1 day without a smoke”… Well, its been 60 days!!! They also give you a log in and personal web page and they tell you how much money youv’e saved while your trying to quit. It is only available by perscription and is expensive. If you have insurance, ask your HR department if they cover, “Smoking Sensation” and if so, it is 1/2 the price.. GOOD LUCK!!!
Well, I quit smoking with the help of flu medicine and medical leave. I had a bad flu, and I was on medication for a week and the medication made me sleep alot. Through out and never touch cigarettes and after I recover, I never pick it up. I think to quit, you have to have enough rest and I think the flu medicine ease the symptoms of cravings.
Other ways that was said effective were, nicotine patches, accupunture and so on.
But I think flu medication and sleep with the help of flu or cold will help. And stay away from friends who smoke for a week or 2 after that. Oh remember to keep busy and drink plenty of warm water. Good luck, I had quited for 3 years after smoking for 10.
I have succesfully quit smoking with hypnosis. Below is the link with the program I went through. The big thing about quitting is that you really have to want to quit otherwise you’ll never be able to successfully quit. I wouldn’t even bother with the patches and gum. The success rate of those products are so low. They are just another way for the tobacco companies to take your money. I definatelty recommend this method. I also learned a lot from it. Good luck!
I am another who has “tried it all” to quit! Hypnosis worked for 3 days! So … I have no faith in that. Besides a form of acupuncture that has a high success rate there is another that is called Auriculotherapy.
My husband and I had this done on 4/25 of this year and have not smoked since. A friend of mine who had it done has been smoke free for over a year. We had our treatment done near St. Louis, MO – but I am sure there is a clinic somewhere near you where you can be treated.
It does have a very high success rate and is worth every penny. You still have to use a little of your own will power to quit, but most places will treat you over & over again for free if you have cravings and IF you DO NOT give in to those cravings & light up.
I will give the website to where we were treated so that you may obtain more information about the procedure and they may also be able to help you find a clinic near you. Our cost was $90 each, but it is worth it!

One thing they suggested was the 4 D’s
delay
deep breaths
drink water
do something else

Hypnotherapy.
Actually if you use nicotine patches and slowly use less and less of them you’ll eventually find you don’t crave cigarretes anymore.
