My doctor said I have 1 year to live if I don’t quit smoking, how do I do it? It seems so hard! Help, please?
I’m a chain-smoker who’s not in good health at all. I have a 1 month old son who loves me, i’m a chain-smoker and I am told that if I don’t quit smoking now, i’ll live 1 more year. I’m told I can live until my child is 18 at most if I quit smoking in the next week. I smoke 67 cigarettes a day on average, how do I quit smoking? Help, please?

I have an uncle who’s like a dad to me, you know what he did for me, he quit smoking in 1 day, a month after i asked him. Because he thought about it ,and knew i was right….
I dont believe in crap the doctor says, about lifespan, they will never know, if you quit now you can actually live to be 80…MAYBE 90…
But if you dont quit now, then the reduced lifespan will definitely be affective, because if you dont quit at all, you think your gna live?
All you need is willpower, the willpower is your love for your son, and if you dont have willpower to quit then you love your son enough..
Sure its hard, but suck it up….Its for LOVE..
Just one day, stop smoking, stop buying it, its not easy, but get addicted to something else, like video games, its safer to be addicted to that. Thing is do you think your going to get your lifespan back like that? NO. Get addicted to excersise, healthy food, Join a health club.. And play more with your son, at father and son sightseeing, that will get your mind off SMOKING.
I’ve never smoked, but my mother smoked her whole life..from 15 to her 60′s. She tried many times but could never quit smoking…until the doctors told her she had the beginning of emphysema. It wasn’t until she was scared about dying from smoking that she finally found the willpower to stop. She quit cold turkey and it was tough, but she could do it because her alternative and only option was – dying, and it would not be a pleasant death either. And so YOU can do it because it is the same option for you. You can try all the things out there like patches and stuff to try to make it easier, but the most critical issue for you is your mindset – you need to focus on the fact that the cigarettes are NOT your friend – they are literally killing you..and God only knows, with that kind of constant smoking – they are harming your son badly too (and anyone else in your household). Second hand smoke is just as bad for a person, and it can be very harsh on a baby’s lungs. So every day, every hour, every minute if needed – focus on the damage those nasty things are causing to you and your family that you love. If you must, get professional counseling, consult a hypnotist, accupuncture, whatever it takes. If you can’t go cold turkey, and I doubt you could…do it step by step, like day 1, go from 67 to 50 (and chew gum or something in between)…day 2, 50 to 40…day 3, 40 to 30, etc. And have someone lock them up and give you so many for that hour so you can’t cheat. Try to go longer and longer in between cigarettes…find something to really keep you busy so to take your mind off of them for awhile. I hope you can do this, good luck.
Wow!! that’s a lot of cigarettes a day. You need some serious help. My brother was a chain smoker too and he was introduced to a website called quit smoking experts or something like that.He didn’t smoke another cigarette after about 1 week. You can check out the website below and see if it works for you
