I had to quit when I was preggers with my daughter. It took alot of hard work and determination but I did it. I just kept thinking of my innocent little baby and how selfish it would be to smoke. My baby’s health was WAY more important than that nasty ciggarette. You would put your life on the line for your child right? So just put some effort into quitting and you will be able to do it.
Good luck!!
Talk to your pharmacist. If the options are either smoke and get about 100 toxic chemicals and use the patch which gives you only nicotine, the one you’re addicted to, then the patch isn’t such a bad option if it will help you quit.
Smoking light cigarettes aren’t going to make much difference. Some even say they are worse because if you’re used to smoking regular cigarettes you’ll just end up inhaling harder. It won’t make any difference to the chemicals your baby is getting, but smoking lighter cigarettes ends up giving worse lung cancer.
Sorry, I know it’s hard. I tried quitting at least a dozen times over the years I smoked. It was a mixed blessing that I had constant morning sickness because I just couldn’t face another cigarette again. Good luck, and keep trying.
You may want to ask your doctor about Wellbutrin and whether it’s safe during pregnancy. I hear it helps people to quit smoking. With all my pregnancies, the smell and taste of a cigarette made me ill so I was able to give it up naturally. I wish you luck!
