Id really like to quit smoking.. does anyone have any advice or hints that could be helpful?
Im 19 and I smoke about a pack a day. Id like to quit or at least dramatically slow down.. I find myself getting really irritable and grumpy when I don’t smoke a cig. And I don’t want to start eating alot if I quit (I usually snack alot if im out) so what are some methods or tips that could help? Thanks!

try exercising instead. its a great way to stop
read books, exercise, munch on veggies.
‘I quit cold turkey, it is mind over matter friend. Just preoccupy yourself with other things.
and all the best
try to reduce the number gradually.try to be more at smoke free zones for more time.
Distractions are usually good. Make a to do list and work to check things off. Or maybe get a journal & whenever you feel like smoking open it and useit – either write an entry, tell a story, draw, or even just write down words of emotions you’re feeling.
First, you have to be mentally ready to quit. Because thats the hardest part to break, the mental association with smoking. Secondly, use Nicotine Replacement. I used those little lozenge things and they helped heaps. I even cut up straws to cigarette size and sucked air through them when i wanted a smoke. It kinda helped but also atleast gave my hands something to do.
zinc and the B-vitamins help against irritability. Nutrition has a MAJOR effect on our emotions, hormones, how we feel, etc..
I am going to give you a link below to go to and join. I am on there every day as I quit in April after twenty nine years of smoking. I get so much support from all the members there. Join, create a signature and get all the “newbie” information you need to get on track. I was a hard core pack a day girl and now smoke free!! I love it. See you there!!
it is good to hear that you have thought about and exactly want to quit smoking. go for it with full confidence and strictly on the expert’s advice. search on the net and you would find many of the trusted sites that would aid you in the fulfillment of your good purpose.
You have the advantage of youth and not having done too much damage yet. The weight gain is temporary (unless you replace nicotine addiction with food) as are the withdrawal symptoms. If you need to use a cessation product (patches, etc) there’s no shame in it. Anything is better than smoking.
