I really wanna quit smoking but everything I try doesn’t work?

I’ve been smoking since 13 (2 years)
I really wanna stop so I’m not a disappointment in the family.
Also, I don’t want cancer later on since I already have a high chance in getting it.
Help me find ways to quit without buying those stupid product that say they help you quit?

The easiest way is with will-power. You say “This will be my last cigarette ever.” Smoke it and then say “I have now given up smoking.” Now, accept that you will get cravings. Accept that they will drive you nuts (my fingers would get restless too). If you need help with these cravings and twitchy fingers, then find something to do with your mind and hands (Get a PDA, Web-book and write a novel. Every time you want a cigarette, get it out and write some more. It doesn’t have to be good. Doesn’t have to be a best seller. Just write a story.) Now make sure you get your mind into the “I’ve quit” view, instead of the “I’m quitting.” view. So when people offer you a cigarette, you say “No thank you, I’ve given up smoking.”

There will be times in your life when the cravings seem almost unbearable (like when my dog died.) Just remind yourself that if you start again, you will have to quit again. Even now, 20 years after I gave up, I still get the occasional craving.

After you have given up for about 1 week, you should then eat something that you really like the flavour to. Mine was strawberries. You get your taste back and things taste really good again. You don’t realise you lost your taste until you get it back.

I think I found it easier because everyone I know told me that I couldn’t give up like that and I thought “I’ll show you.” You just need to be bloodied minded and stubborn. With a friend of mine, we worked out that over a five year period, she could have purchased a brand new car with what she was effectively burning.

    Good luck.

I’ve tried just about every method there is out there and there is only one I can recommend – NLP! It eliminates the cravings.
Gum patches and all the other just did not cut it for me, not to mention cold turkey which was the hardest, I even tried the electric cig and it is just no match to the real thing.

it’s the one that got me off the cigs and smoke free for GOOD even without gaining weight! :)

    Good luck kicking the habit!
