I just quit smoking for my New Year’s Resolution – Any good tips to help me stay away when I am craving smoke?

I’ve been an on/off smoker for the better part of 13 years now. I’ve never gotten to the point of needing a pack or day – at most it is about 6 cigarettes total. I really do want to quit, but at the same time, I WANT A GIGARETTE. Can anybody offer some ‘sage’ advice?

    I was a 2 1/2 pack smoker for 10 years! I quit 12 years ago this year! What happened to me was my aunt was dying of emphesema…and I cut up my cigarettes. My advice…is when you want a cigarette…think of someone you love…bedridden…weighing 60 pounds…and wearing a diaper…and you will quit IMMEDIATELY!!!

    There is a lesser version of the patch for occasional smokers. Ask your doctor.. Wellbutrin works well when you have cravings.
