I just quit smoking and have asthma. are there certain exercises I can do to condition my lungs for running?

I quit smoking one month ago and have asthma. I want to start running. Are there any sites that deal with this? Or any advice?

To be blunt and to the point…NO you cannot. Because your lungs cannot be rehabilitated or exercised like people think. When you train like with running, your conditioning you body (mainly your heart) NOT your LUNGS. No matter what somebody says…you cannot “train” your lungs.

If it makes you feel any better…nobody can train there lungs so to speak:-) You can just slow down or stop the damage being done by smoking. Good luck with your running!
