I have recently quit smoking. What are the fruits you should be eating to help cleanse your heart/body?
I know I have heard of certain fruits and/or vegetables that help your heart re-cooperate from being a smoker. Can anyone help me out?

Fruits that are high in Citric Acid are good for cleansing. Things like grapefruit (peel the sections too, to make them more palatable – I prefer red to white). Oranges are common & add slices of lemon to your water.

Every fruit and vegetable has unique properties that contribute to good health, smoker and non-smoker.
The golden rule is color: the more colors of fruits and vegetables you have, the better the balance of nutrients you are receiving.
While I could give you the breakdown of vitamins and minerals for various vegetables and fruits, know this: there are a variety of undiscovered and recently discovered chemicals that contribute to good human health.
Broccolli has received a lot of attention since the discovery of yet-named chemicals. These chemicals provide protection from carcinogens, and helps heal the damage already done by carnicogens. Since cigarette smoke is jam packed with cancer-causing chemicals, broccolli has been identified as a key food to consume.
Spinach, cauliflower, uncooked carrots, peppers, onions and garlic all contribute to good health and good healing.
They must be fresh, served without corn/vegetable oils, no salad dressing, no butter. No deep frying or smothering your broccolli with cheese.
Also, you need whole unprocessed grains. These are key to repairing damage done by smoking. Steel cut oats, whole grain breads (not whole wheat breads), wild rice and basmati rice should be part of a post-smoking recovery diet.
Eat several servings of each every day. You will feel better and look better.

Congratulations on stopping smoking – that’s not easy. The best fruit of all is kindness – because that will help you psychologically. It sounds as if you are already doing that by thinking of healthy foods to eat so that you can cleanse your body without putting on weight.

I quit smoking as well ! Jogging longer and better. Best of luck. It has been only 3 weeks for me.
