I am trying to quit smoking. I’m really struggling, but the worse is that I am so afraid of gaining weight.?
Any ex-smokers out there that have experience? I know non-smokers think they know everything about quitting smoking, but I have not found much help with my non-smoking friends/family. I have only made it smoking (3) cigarettes in the last 2 days down from a pack a day. I have been smoking since I was 14, so 10 years now. I eventually want to smoke NONE!! Thank you!

Nobody “quits” anything. Find something productive to replace smoking with…like exercise.

I wanna congratulate you for making this decision! you know it’s the right thing to do for your body. my colleague has been smoking for 30 over yrs quit cold turkey one day (when cigarette prices went up AGAIN in my country) and has never looked back .. he’s 40+ old btw! if an ‘old’ man can do it.. you can too! you’ve got nothing to lose.if u don’t want to gain weight – eat right (might as well run the full mile right) -cut down on SUGAR and CARBs and BEER too! walk, run, clean the house more? for exercise. you’ll be alright! my best-EST wishes to you!
I used to smoke so I know what your going thru. You need to completely change your activities and stay busy, Avoid places and people that smoke, get help from friends chew gum or sugar free candy. And start going to a gym or other activities. You will be surprised how much better your food tastes and how much more money you have in your pocket.

I smoked for many years one day i decided went cold turkey Every time i needed a cigarette i would go out take a walk or take a bath or do completely different activities I started going to the y that helped my body to get rid of nicotine habit be strong sip on a little water smoking is a very psychological habit too break the habit do somenthing new distract your body mind
Hi! i used to smoke two packs in a day. One fine day I just left ,telling it to all my friends and family. I must confess initially it was TOUGH, very very tough. I immediately joined music classes. i just had to keep myself busy, so that it does not happen again.
They call it cold turkey treatment. Don’t reduce the intake. Just decide not to smoke at all. Come what may! Join some hobby class.That might help.
