my grandpa did and he got very sick for a couple of weeks (he smokes since he is 15 hes not 68!) but he always told me that he thought about how bad it was for him and how distant people were from him and after so long that gets old. Plus he didn’t want to redevelope cancer.
i smoked 34 yrs i quit cold turkey
in 1997.havent smoked since.
thinking about lung cancer seeing
people on oxygen and family members
dying of smoking related deseases
helped me.
I smoked for 16 years, today is my 14th day. How much better I feel about myself, and how much calmer and cenetered i feel oh and haribo!!
My husband smoked 2 packs a day for years. One morning he woke up didn’t have a cigarette. Its been over 20 yrs & he’s never picked one up again. However he put on weight and is now overweight. His willpower only worked for smoking. He couldn’t lose 5 lbs if his life depended on it. lol
I smoked from 1982 to 2006. I quit several times, the best being 8 months, before relapsing. So, this time, it is for real. I quit Aug 15/06 and am still going strong.
The best thing I have now, to make sure I don’t smoke again is the knowledge that it really is TRUE that I am one smoke away from being a smoker.
Just like being an alcoholic. I can’t smoke just one. So, I KNOW, that if I just have a puff, I’m just around the corner from full blown smoking yet again. So, if I take the puff, I know what I’m saying is that I don’t want to stay quit.
Simple.
I just can’t have a drag, puff, or a butt.
Good luck. Keep trying until you get it done.
