    Hi,

It just depends on the person. Most psychiatric medications take about 2 weeks to start “working,” unless they are fast-acting meds like tranquilizers or sedatives (like Xanax or Klonopin).

I’d give it a week or two. I do know people who have had excellent results with quitting smoking on Wellbutrin, but others who haven’t been able to stop. From what I hear, if you keep smoking through the bad effects, you’ll eventually get used to it. So if the Wellbutrin starts making the cigarettes taste gross or make you nauseous, try not to smoke because if you do you might get used to it too and continue smoking.

    Good luck to you!!!!

Quit trying to use an anti-depressant to stop smoking.

Check out electronic cigarettes. You get to “smoke” without the 3900+ extra chemicals found in regular tobacco cigarettes. You can even get cartridges with no nicotine to you can feel like your smoking but you are not.
