You can get a stick now that does the same thing as smoking but doesn’t harm your health I’ve heard, check it out!

Good luck with that. My husband said he would quit smoking when I got pregnant with our first child.

**I’m now pregnant with our second and he still smokes..

first of all he needs to want to do it on his own. Nicotine is a powerful drug.

If he wants to quit support him by getting him tokens or appreciation or gifts. Encourage the use of patches or gums or better yet, e-cigs (if they are legal in your country) i quit smoking in only a few months with support and e-cigs.

Tell him you would like to move in if he can quit, and remind it quitting is for him and his health as well as yours.

You moving in with him if he quits smoking is the most motivation I can imagine you provide your boyfriend. If he can’t quit with this motivation, you’re just not important enough in his life, or he doesn’t want you to live with him as much as it may seem.

Let him know that the only way you’ll move in with him is if he quits smoking. If he doesn’t, you won’t think about it. If you really want him to quit, go online and find some quit smoking plans, find the average time it takes for someone to quit smoking and provide your boyfriend with a plan or deadline. Support him on the plan and regularly remind him about him quitting and you moving in.

I don’t recommend a deadline unless you’re going for an all or nothing: you’re boyfriend quits or you quit the relationship.

it’s a really difficult thing to do and he needs to be 100% sure in his own head he’s ready to stop before he’ll do anything about it, that’s when he’ll need your support. Be careful not to try to push him into it because hell be less likely to try then. I would hope he’ll give it up eventually anyway but don’t let it spoil your relationship in the meantime.

Due to the unpleasantness of the withdrawal symptoms, many people who try to quit smoking end up replacing the cigarettes with some other type of addiction. This may be an addiction to prescription medication such as Zyban and Champix which are variations of antidepressant drugs, sleeping tablets or tranquilizers, nicotine patches, gum, microtabs, lozenges, inhaler, nasal spray, inhalatorsor, or an addiction to food. While you will definitely experience the health benefits of giving up nicotine, no one wants to replace one addiction with another!

A healthy diet, adequate exercise as well as natural and holistic treatments such as acupuncture, massage and herbal and homeopathic remedies can also help the smoker overcome nicotine addiction. Herbal and homeopathic treatments are a safe and effective means to reduce nicotine cravings (without giving you more nicotine) and will also help to prevent weight gain and alleviate anxiety and irritability. Basically, natural and holistic treatments not only lessen the urge to smoke, but also help you to restore balance in your body.

There are a number of ingredients such as Avena sativa, Garcinia cambogia and Gotu Cola (Centella asiatica) which will help to address the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal. They reduce nicotine cravings and balance the mood.
