Talk to her about her funeral arrangements because that’s what is going to happen if she keeps it up.

Best thing to do is get her help. She needs managment if she wants to live longer. I suggest getting some kind of therapeist person that could help relieve bad habbits. Another thig you could do is next time you have a special day, like a birthday or a graduation, ask for her to quit smoking as your present. This will show her how much yuo really care about the subject.

I’m afraid to say that i don’t think you can make your mom stop smoking. it really has to be up to the person when they decide they want to stop. it is a very addictive habit and therefore requires a lot of will power. Maybe you could talk to her calmly and explain the reason’s why you want her to stop.

Tell her–heyyyy , MA, I love you and want you around for a long time. I want you to play a role in the lives of your grand kids. I want you to retire and live a long, happy life on the beach, or in the mountains or whatever you want… you can save THOUSANDS of dollars a year….let’s take all the $$ you woulda spent on cigs and place it in a jar to do something fun with–spa day, or shopping spree…idk, we don’t know your mom, YOU do, say whatever will appeal to her.

Ok I’m totally agains smoking but my grandpa has been smoking since he was 15 and he’s 73 and he’s healthy as a hrse. Kinda. Old age is getting to him but thats it. Nieehter him or my grandma are on any medication and my grandma has more energy then I do. It’s creepy. Anyway whn I was little I threw out my moms cigarette and told her I’ll be really sad and blah blah blah.

I know you mean well and stuff. You can’t make her quit. She has to want to do this on her own. She’s old enough and iam sure she knows the ricks of it,

I think that the best you can do is tell her how her smoking affects you, and why you need her to quit. At the end of the day though, she has to want to quit, you can give her all the reasons in the world to want to quit, but until she wants help there is nothing you can do. Continue to urge her to quit, good luck

    Stop stressing her for starters.
My grandparents are 90 and 86 and have been smoking for over 65 years, with no signs of quitting. They are healthier then most non smokers in their 50′s.
