Congratulations for taking the chance!!
You’re obviously very brave going it alone.
If you ever feel the need to go back, think about why you stopped. And, if you feel you need a cigarette really bad, chew gum. It’s really helpful in your situation.
I did that 3 years ago this coming Oct 1st!
I chewed a lot of gum, and ate a lot of hard candy.
I also found it helpful to cut plastic straws into the length of a cig, and chew/inhale/”flick ashes” with it. The PHYSICAL addiction is gone in 3-4 days….but then you’ll fight the mental addiction, which some think is tougher.
Tell yourself, “one more hour” when you think you can’t make it any longer….then when that hour is gone, go for another hour. Those hours add into a day, which add up to a week, and soon you’ll be free!
I smoked 3 packs of Kools daily for 27 years–if I can do it, so can YOU!
Get the nicotine gum. It has worked for my husband, first hand, but you really must want to quit. Think of your health first and then the money you are wasting. The first week is the hardest. Keep telling yourself you do not want to go backwards. Every time you want one, think about that trip to Hawaii you are missing. Aside from that you won’t smell bad anymore. I never realized how bad the smoke clings to your body and clothing.
(1) Find a close friend
(2) Stockpile food and media
(3) Get a room that shuts from the inside
(4) Put the food and media in the room
(5) Stand in the room
(6) Have said friend lock the room from the outside
(7) Wait two weeks
(8) Have friend open the room
It’s not as bad as it thinks if you don’t think about it.
The physical addiction isn’t as hard to break as the mental addiction. Just go about and live your life. When the urge to smoke comes, just don’t think about it. It’ll go away in about 3 minutes.

Whenever you get a craving, just keep thinking, IT WILL PASS. Usually after a few minutes it will.
Go get a can of copenhagen. then after 3 weeks, ease off that to bubble gum.
Chewing gum helps. It’s not healthy but it’s better than smoking anyway.

I think it’s great you decided to quit smoking. Going cold turkey can be tough.
If you start to buckle you should check out the program on this site before lighting up:
http://www.uhelpyourself.com/quitsmoke
Their program really helps you quit smoking without suffering through cravings and withdraw.
Good Luck!
Tom
