Help me to understand how hard it is to quit smoking?
I need help understanding the struggle of what smokers go through everyday when they are trying to quit smoking….
what does it feel like when you get a craving?? What goes through your mind?
I’m only 16 and have never experienced any kind of addiction, but my dad has recently started smoking, again.. & I seem to have no sympathy for him.. my mother says this is because I am immature, maybe so, but I need help to understand
Please help me

I smoked for 15 years and the last two I was up to two packs a day. I decided I wanted to quit smoking and I was doing it first for myself and second for those around me. It wasn’t a whim but something I truly desired and believed in. I quit cold turkey and didn’t need anything to help me, nor did I have any cravings or want to ever smoke again. I loathe cigarette smoke now. So as far as my own experience, giving up smoking isn’t difficult as long as it is what you actually want to do.
BTW I once tried to quit after I had been smoking for about five years, but because I didn’t really want to quit I didn’t have the motive and I couldn’t manage it. So when people tell me they are having a hard time quitting, then I tend to think they just aren’t motivated to quit for the right reasons.
