Has anyone quit smoking with wellebutrin?

Or do you know anyone that has. I`d be interested to know what your experience was like, and also help you lose weight, or stop you from gaining weight when you quit.

Also, how long did you have to take it for.

You don’t need drugs, you just need willpower. I quit smoking on my first try, cold turkey. And I still had 7 cigarettes left in my last pack. I won’t lie, it was hard, so you have to really WANT to quit. GOOD LUCK!!

    PS
It might help you to know that after 10-15 days without a cigarette, the physical need is gone. It’s all in your head, after that.

When I was put on it I did not even slow down smoking and it caused me to gain a helluva lot of weight. I have heard the same from several other people.

I suggest trying quitting without medications. They always have side effects and are expensive. This site helped me quit. It’s free. Try it and if it doesn’t work then go for the medications.

I tried Welbutrin first and while it certainly helped me to not think about smoking as much, I still had bad cravings and eventually started smoking again.

My doc told me that Chantix works better, so I tried it. It worked like a charm and I finally stopped (and have been quit for over a year).

The only thing with Chantix is that it can have some crazy side effects and is not as safe as welbutrin. So I would try the welbutrin first.

The welbutrin should also help you not gain weight while you quit because it keeps you from becoming depressed from nicotine withdrawal. But ultimately, it’ll be up to you to replace smoking with a healthier habit and not food.

    Good luck to you!!! :)
