Any hobbies that will help me quit smoking pot/cigarettes?

Im smoking 2 packs a day, and an ounce a week. My chest is killing me and I definitely need to quit. Is there any physical activites that could help my lungs(and my mind). No trolls, I have a real problem here.

Quitting is a hefty task and you’re desire to break your habit is very respectable. :) Working out, cycling, skating, horseback riding, rock climbing, swimming, running, and other physical activities are good activities to help you quit. Stay strong!!

Slowly smoke less and less. Then when you’re up to smoking twice a day, try smoking every other day, then twice evey two days. Then do the same but with one cigarette. You’ll eventually quit altogether. Don’t just quit all at once because you’re gonna start all over again.

Eat candy or something you seriously love in substitute of smoking.

Have a really strong will power, I know myself, I work in a very intense environment and the moment a real challenge popped up, I would take out a smoke, went up to 30-35 sticks a day!

Then one day, I made a choice that enough is enough, and did not put another cigarette in… It was very difficult first month, challenges always came and so did the urge to have just a puff, but need to be strong.

Put a note or a stickie on things you always need to see – for me it was my computer and my workspace to keep reminding yourself.

Challenges still come for me, and so do the urges, but haven’t smoked a single cigarette in close to 5 years.

The best way to quit smoking is to never start.

But seeing as this is not an option here are some things you can do…

♦Watch videos on the effects of smoking. Probably won’t want to smoke again after you see what you’re doing to your body.

♦Talk to a therapist if you have one. If not, invest in one. There are also plenty of places you can go to if you can’t afford one. You can even talk to one online!

♦Call a drug hotline (yes, tobacco and marijuana are DRUGS. They may be plants, but the definition of a drug is something that changes the way the mind or body works.)

♦Munch on carrot and celery sticks. They take your mind off smoking.

♦Planting a garden is a good physical activity that takes your mind off cigarettes. Plus, you’re saving money by growing your own food.

♦Buy a sketchbook or just use old junk mail papers and draw!

♦Talk to a friend or family member.

♦Find a rock in your yard or driveway. Whenever you feel the need to smoke, start rubbing it.

    ♦Take 10 deep breaths at a time.

♦Walk! It’s great for your body! (as long as you’re not smoking while you walk)

The best thing to do is to start working out, if you are truly going to quit then you are going to have some weight gain and working out will help with your nervs and also that extra poundage.
