I’ve tried it, but it didnt work on me. I found that it only works on some people.

I wouldnt rely on it as a practical choice.

i’ve done hypnosis for smoking and it didnt work for me. i’ve heard that sometimes it just doesnt work for some people. but it may work for you. but sweetie, if your life depends on it, i would just limit yourself to a certain number or packs/cigs a week untill you dont smoke at all. or just quit cold turkey. as for the weightloss thing. start up a daily routine. it may not be fun, and you may hate it. but isnt your life worth it?

It worked for a friend of mine to quit.
    I can’t be hypnotized.
Tried it and it didn’t work.
    My mind isn’t weak enough.

  • Madame Diderot says:

Hypnosis works by over-riding your brain. It doesn’t work unless the person is willing to be hypnotized.

The state of being under hypnosis is a very suggestible stage. It doesn’t have anything to do with mysticism or spirituality. Hypnosis works by power of suggestion.

I tried it once to stop smoking, but it didn’t work. I did quit smoking 10 years later without hypnosis. I did not gain weight, either. I guess I just really wanted it that time. It’s all about being mentally serious about it.

I can give you both points of view. I am a certified hypnotherapist. Prior to me getting certified, I had hypnosis done for a phobia. Obviously, I was apprehensive at first, like you. After the session was over, I didn’t even think I had been hypnotized. It almost felt like day dreaming. Have you ever driven your car and then forgot driving from point A to point B? That’s similiar to how it feels. Visit this link to read the most frequently asked questions and answers about hypnosis http://lifechangeshypnosis.org/FAQs.html Now that I gave you my experience as a client, I can give you my experience as a hypnotherapist.
When I have a new client, the first session is typically an hour and a half. The first 45 minutes is generally spent going over their intake form and getting a clear understanding of the issue that they are experiencing. Together we set a goal that is attainable to the client. I might do some suggestability tests to see how well my client can be hypnotized and what steps that I need to take. After that we do hypnosis. I typically have the client lay down and get comfortable. I have them relax and start to play soft, tranquil music. I then start the hypnosis process. This typically takes about a half an hour. After the hypnosis is finished, we sit down and discuss post hypnotic suggestions and decide whether we need another appointment to follow up. I hope that answers your questions. In the link you will find the most frequently asked questions and answers of people prior to hypnosis. I wish you the best of luck!!!
