Has anybody here ever tried hypnosis to quit smoking?

Does it work? It has become obvious that I don’t have the will power but I really want to quit. Any other recommendations?

My friend and her father tried it. It worked for both. She had been smoking for at least 7 years before she tried hypnosis. She is still smoke free and that was about 5 years ago. It worked for him for a year, but then he got stressed and went back to smoking.
I think it helps mostly with the physical withdraw from smoking. I think it is worth trying at least. Perhaps it will work for you too. Good luck!

My boyfriend’s friends have all tried it (3 of them). One of them quit for good, said he hasn’t craved a thing. He had his therapist replaced the cig craving with a craving for water, so he drinks it a bunch now. Two of them are smoking again, they said they had no cravings at all, they just missed the hand motions and such or something (waste of $100 if you ask me). But they all said the cravings were almost totally gone. My mom’s boss had it done 12 years ago and still doesn’t smoke.

I quit cold turkey a month ago after reading the book ‘Allen Carr’s Easy Way To Stop Smoking’. The author is an ex smoker himself who explains how to overcome the psychological side of the addiction with amazing insight and clarity. This makes the physical withdrawal much more bearable. A must read in my opinion for all smokers struggling to quit.
