Your Questions About Stop Smoking Benefits

Sandy asks…

what are the benefits of stopping smoking on your skin?

i have quit…..it was surprisingly easy although i was only smoking about 4/5 fags per day for 3 years(none on the weekend) would this be enough to make my skin look bad? or would heavy smokers be the only ones at risk?

and how does the skin improve itself? would dark eyes go? i know the skin gets rosier

thanks

Werner Michael answers:

Smoking reduces the amount of blood flowing to the skin and dries it out. Over time, this means it loses elasticity and gets more wrinkled.

Stopping smoking can have positive effects on your skin. You will improve your skin tone and colour. You’re less likely to get wrinkles round your eyes and mouth from squinting when smoke gets in your eyes, and puckering up when you draw on a cigarette.

David asks…

what are some benefits people may experience when they stop smoking?

Werner Michael answers:

You breathe better, you smell better, you feel better, it doesn’t control every waking minute of your life… Health is improved, and so is endurance.

Linda asks…

What are the benefits of stopping smoking?

Werner Michael answers:

You know all the usual responses (save money, be healthier, lower your risk of lung cancer and chronic lung disease etc). So I would like to remind you that you’ll have a much wider choice of friends (some people really can’t stand the smell) and be welcome in many more places (homes, restaurants etc). What is also important is that – once you’ve got over the initial withdrawal phase, which is a pain in any addiction – you’ll be able to get on with your life without a constant anxiety about whether you have got your drug with you, whether you can buy it when you run out etc.

What can be both a difficulty and a benefit is that you will no longer be able to suppress all feelings instantly. This means you will have to feel things – sometimes painful things – which can be tough, but does also mean you’ll feel more fully alive and in touch with yourself. So forget the living LONGER – the real issue is living more FULLY.

Steven asks…

Will I begin to look younger if I stop smoking?

I’m planning on stopping smoking very soon for the benefit of my health, but I’ve been told that stopping smoking will also make me look younger. Is that true & how come that happens?

Werner Michael answers:

Yes, you will definitely look younger If you stop smoking.

Smokers have lower levels of antioxidants in their blood than those that don’t smoke. Antioxidants in our body help in repairing damaged cells that make our skin look younger.

Thomas asks…

The benefits of stopping smoking when you are pregnant -?

I have gone from smoking 20 cigarettes a day to 3 as i am ttc. I have been researching the benefits on stopping and this is what i found –

The benefits begin straight away.

You reduce your risk of getting serious disease no matter what age you give up. However, the sooner you stop, the greater the reduction in your risk.

72 hours Breathing becomes easier. Bronchial tubes begin to relax and energy levels increase
1 month Skin appearance improves owing to improved skin perfusion
3–9 months Cough, wheezing, and breathing problems improve and lung function increases by up to 10%
1 year Risk of a heart attack falls to about half that of a smoker
10 years Risk of lung cancer falls to about half that of a smoker
15 years Risk of heart attack falls to the same level as someone who has never smoked .

I am finding it quite hard but i have lots of determination. Can someone help me by telling me some more ADVANTAGES OF STOPPING SMOKING. Thank you very much :) x x x x x
That wasn’t very nice! I asked a polite question and i would appreciate a nice answer! It’s people like you that give women a bad name!

Werner Michael answers:

You will just feel SO much better.

My fiance and I were both smokers before we found out I was pregnant with our son. I would go through a pack a day as would he and we were wasting SO much money on cigarettes. That was around $8-$9 a day. Only just a day. Times that by a month. Lets say a month has roughly 30 days. Multiply that by 8 and that’s $240 down the drain for us that could have gone to something more important. I was smoking for 6 years.

Once I found out I was pregnant, I quit in 3 days. No cigarettes since then, not one. I feel so much healthier. I had more energy. I was happier because I didn’t have an addiction and it’s needs didn’t need to be met any more. I’m also saving much needed money now.

My fiance is in the process of quitting though and is doing great at it. He went from smoking a pack a day to about 3-5 cigarettes. It is also harder for him to quit as well, but he will get there some day.

Reasons to quit:
Increased risk of SIDS
Increased risk of birth defects by 30% when smoking half a pack a day. (missing fingers/toes or being webbed)
The babies cells could be deprived of oxygen
Increased risk of low birth weight
Baby is absorbing same chemicals as you are
Could cause lung problems in the baby
Increased risk of premature birth and/or labor
Increased risk of stillbirths

To keep your mind off of smoking:
- Make a list of all the reasons you should stop smoking, whether it is health reasons, reasons for the baby, or money issues. Make a list and hang it some place where you will see it every day to remind you of the benifits.
- Find a healthier habit. Chew gum or create a fun habbit for yourself. I found taking walks in the park with my fiance was a good way for me to become overall healthier while keeping my mind off of smoking. It’s not easy to smoke a cigarette, talk and walk at the same time.
- Develop new habits. Instead of having a cigarette after a meal, directly do something else to pass the time.

George asks…

How to stop my friend[s] from smoking?

I have 3 close friends that all smoke, ive known them for about 2 months now since going to 6th form college
They are all amazing, and really nice, but I just feel that they need to stop this smoking, one of them also smokes weed
I need some help because it really would be a benefit for them to just stop smoking it all lol

Werner Michael answers:

The weeds cool i thought meant cigs. I was going to suggest for the cig smokers to get some really crappy weed this satisfies the need for smoke to enter the lungs takes the edge off nicotine and the body does the rest, it worked for me . Cig smoke is repulsive. It stinks weed on the other hand can be helpful in creativity. Although short term memory is effected . Not good for school boys. Ive smoked for 40 years am a successful business man. No not selling weed. Window tinting retired now getting some sick tubes in the philippines. Good luck wit your buds

Donald asks…

What are benefits of quiting smoking, Why is smoking bad?

I’m trying to quit smoking. I stopped last night. I do well up until about the 5th day, does anyone have any advice.

And can you all tell me some reasons why smoking is bad, statistics what it does to you. I do know the reasons why, but hopefully people will come up with things I didn’t know and i’ll be put off smoking for ever. What are benefits of quiting smoking?

Werner Michael answers:

Smoking effects your lungs making it harder to breath later on in life (that’s why smokers cough so much) and cigarettes have tar in them which is what gets in your lungs

Benefits from not smoking. 1) you dont smell like smoke all the time 2) your teeth dont turn yellow as easy 3) people like you more 4) you will live longer 5)less likely to get a heart attack 6) normal blood pressure

So i suggest you quit smoking ASAP

oh yea,
Louis Armstrong, Nat “King” Cole, Sammy Davis Jr, and Walt Disney all DIED from smoking.
