Your Questions About Free Stop Smoking Help

Sandra asks…
Should there be free clinics where smokers and can actually get real help with stopping smoking?
I’m referring to this because there are people that really would like to stop but they can’t. One of the things that stops them from trying to stop is that they can’t take the additional expense of a medication that may or may not work.
In addition, I wonder how many crimes are committed just because the person didn’t have a cigarette. Believe it or not, yes it is that bad. We never know what straw is going to break the person. They may be on egde and burst out where they wouldn’t have.

Charles asks…
Is smoking weed every day dangerous ? My bf smokes it every day. I want to stop it asap!?
Hi
I am in relationship for over a year and recently I ve learned that my boyfriend is smoking pot every day. He smokes at work on lunchbreaks and also at home when I am asleep at night. He just admitted to it and he claims that this is calming him down.
When I met him 15 months ago he was smoking, then he was free of this habit for a year or so. 3 months ago we went thrugh a crisis and since then he smokes again.
We are doing fine but when he smokes he is completely different person. There is no interaction with him almost and additionally he is not willing to talk. He smokes every day now and so you can only imagine what it means to me. When he is high we are in two different worlds. In contrary – when he is not smoking – he is the most lovely man on earth.
I am affraid that if I will not help him or use some kind of trick to make him stop smoking daily our relationship will be done. I am just loosing my patience slowly.
So maybe there is someone who can advise me something on this matter.
I want my baby back !
He claims that it just calms him down and that he smokes due to workload and associated stress. I am devastated…
Please help me ….

Werner Michael answers:
Smoking pot is worse than smoking cigarettes.
THC lessens the size and amount of neurons, increases aging, causes lung and mouth cancer along with numerous other things – Smugglers always use something on or around the weed to mask the smell or increase growing (aka toxins).
Everyone has stress in their lives and drama to deal with, all drugs and alcohol do is put a pause on problems – doesn’t solve them and always makes them worse! Lets not forget either that this is illegal and costly.
From experience when you’re in a relationship you cannot change people nor expect them to change for you – you either accept someone the way they are or you don’t, trying to change someone never works.
My advice to you is that you can do much better and deserve much better!

David asks…
who out there has quit smoking and how ?
I listened to Allen Carrs “Easy Way to Stop Smoking” which helped a lot in stopping.
I also went to http://whyquit.com/ which helped a lot. I have been smoke free for several months now.

Werner Michael answers:
Exercise. You can’t be an athlete and smoke, smoking gets in the way. Excersing will get you outdoors, eating healthier, better tasting (grease tastes and feels gross) foods, and it will cut out smoking almost instantly. It makes cigarettes feel gross…
The key to exercise is making it fun. I bikeride because i love speed solitude and travel. Maybe you could join a gym during winter (as summer is ending), and swim. Get a good pair of waterproof headphones and imburse yourself in all the music you haven’t listened to in years, and discover new artists. Expand the horizons. Or just wear your mp3 player to explore on the treadmill or exercise bike and build a god routine.

Ruth asks…
How can I get my mom to stop smoking cigarettes and how can I stop my dad using smokeless tobacco?
My mom has been smoking since she was in her late teens and she has asthma. I am afraid she will develop lung cancer or worse… I want my mom to be around for a long time because I love her and care about her and I know that she is a very special person. I do not know when my dad started chewing smokeless tobacco, but this type of tabacco can cause mouth cancer and my dad could lose his entire jaw if he continues… I want my dad to be around for a long time because I know if he were to get into an accident, I don’t think I would be ready to become the man of the house. plus, My dad makes most of the money in our family and we couldn’t live in our home without that money… I also look up to my dad and I think he makes good decisions for our family. He is a nice dad and is nice to have around. Even though we have a home security, I feel safer at night when he’s home. I just want them both to live long, happy and healthy lives- drug free. My mom can’t take pills to stop smoking because they give her a stomach ache and idk if there are anything to make my dad quit smokeless tabacco. I need some words of advise or what to say to them to get them to quit. PLEASE HELP!!! Your answers may be my only hope!!!
I would never smoke or do any drugs, so don’t give any suggestions about that. Please do not give me worthless answers.

Richard asks…
I need to stop smoking? help?
Right I have decided I am going to try stopping smoking this week ans what to do it cold turkey. I have many reasons I need to stop smoking.
I am 21 and I smoke about 20 a day and I have been smoking since I was about 14.
I am sick of this habit controlling me!!!! Obviously I am concerned for my health and theres also money, but I just want to be free of my habit.
If anyone has any tips on stoping smoking please share.
thank you

Werner Michael answers:
You’re not going to “try” to quit. Don’t ever say that again, ok? Lol
You ARE going to quit and you’re going to do it cold turkey. You haven’t been smoking long enough or enough cigs to not be able to quit cold turkey. You must have the WILL to quit that stinky, disgusting, dirty, expensive habit, and I believe you DO have the will. Now it’s just mind over matter. Willpower.
I see women every day who find out they’re pregnant, so they immediately quit. Or other people with cancer or heart disease are told they have to quit, so they quit. Some of these people have been smoking for 40 years, up to 4 packs a day!
Quit right now. Take any cancer sticks you have, wet them, and throw them away. Now you can proud to say, “I don’t smoke.”
You can chew Nicorette gum for the first few days if you want, but remember, MIND OVER MATTER. Sure, you’ll miss the habit for the first few days, but remember, that all it is, a habit. When you get the urge, go brush your teeth. It works!
You can do it! I know you can. Bless you, doll. =)

Chris asks…
i want to stop smoking when my baby born,,, any tips to succeed?????
No judgemental comments please!!!!!! but im 28 weeks with an unplanned pregnancy, but happy all the same, but in a way still hasnt hit theres a baby inside me even so it moves round and keeps me awake etc, its not my fisrt baby but i gave up for her pregnancy easily but have not managed it this time. I agreed with my midwife when baby was born in that moment i intend to stop smoking as i dont want to breast feed and be a smoker at the same time, she agreed it was a great idea and would help me all the way in succeeding but in theory the bbirth of my child should be plenty incentive to give up…. So as soon as baby is born i will be ciggie free but with my last two i started smoking again soon after their births and i dont want to start again this time, anyone have any different ideas on how to continue the no smoking after ive finished breast feeding,,,, it seems so daft to quit then start again but its so easily done and the cravings overwhelm,,, i need some tips to keep it up??
and i dont smoke infront of my kids,, i always have gone out into the garden to light up as i dont want my kids to see me smoking,,, and they never have so far but i dont want them to think its ok to smoke in later life… i realli need to quit
i said no judgements plz!!!!!!!! i dont do drugs i dont drink or anything alike,,, my one downfall is smoking, the risks to my baby are not mental retardation!!!!! at most it can stunt the babies growth but i can assure you i am carrying a very healthy big baby and only more recently has it been said smoking is bad,, many years ago no one batted an eye lid!!!!!
atleast im recognising i want to quit that i want to suceed which is surely better than not quitting at all!

Werner Michael answers:
Maybe this time around you can find someone to keep you accountable, like a friend or relative.
Also, try to find a habit to replace the smoking, even if that means just holding something in your hand like a pen. Some people chew gum, chew on toothpicks, etc.
If this doesn’t work try the patch or nicotine gum. It just depends on the person. Some find that quitting “cold turkey” is most effective but others need to be weaned off gradually.
Best of luck and congratulations!

James asks…
I heard they want to pass a law to have all military stop smoking?
I have something to say about this. Does our country have nothing better to do then to pass such dictatorship laws on a country which is suppose to be free to the people? I understand smoking is bad for your health, but these men and woman are fighting for our right to be free and to help others in the process. Their jobs are very stressful. First trying to survive in wars and trying to help the safety of other civilians as well as their co-troops who are doing the same thing side-by-side. They have seen and still are seeing such pain and suffering not to mentnion the missions they have to go on and kill others to protect themselves. The stress levels alone must sky rocket.
I find this to be silly and down right pushy of our government to worry about such crap in the military. If they want to smoke, let them smoke. Who cares. They say the smoking is harmful to them. I say the war is more harmful for them. They are already putting themselves in harms way by joining the military. But if it was not for men and woman joining, where would we be now? These people that go around and try to make such changes in ones life…..some may not want it. We, like I said, are suppose to be a free country. To do what we wish in the eyes of the law. Smoking I feel is no one’s business if one wishes to smoke. To ban it in resteraunts and bars, okay, but the military? What the heck? Leave our military alone and let them fight for us. Stop being so liberal and stop trying to pass laws that really should be overlooked. How about getting rid of the death row inmates where our taxes are paying to keep them alive and over crowding our prisons. Stop giving other countries our money to help rebuild them and focus on our houses and homes and people here in the United States. Let’s focus on working on our economy so so many are not losing their homes and ones who are ill or terminally ill to loose their medical coverage. Let’s pull together as a union in our own country and help our own people for a chance. Let’s pass a law where our government can’t take from us people to support these organization which are trying to change our country to a dictatorship country.
I just got so mad when I heard of this trying to be passed on to our military men and woman. It makes no sense. What would happen to those who do smoke and then they suddenly have to stop? The stress is bad enough. What are your opinions on this? It boggles my mind to no end. Like I said, smoking is bad for your health, but this is rediculous if you ask me.
I did not mean to say it was a law, but they want to ban our military from smoking cigaretts, cigars, and so forth. And I did read it in my local news paper the other day.
I understand smoking is bad for your health, but my arguement is this and this alone, these men and woman are over fighting for our rights and freedom, who cares if they smoke? The stress alone in the military and what they are trying to uphold for us is unbarable. Does it really matter if they smoke or not? Just makes no sense to me at all. I can think of other things to argue then this. We do not need dictatorship in our country. Some smoke and some do not, what makes non-smokers word more powerful then one who wants to smoke? It always takes ones who feel they are so perfect to ruin it for others who want to do what they want to do. Non-smokers do not understand the withdrawls one goes through when quitting smoking. Imagin all these men and woman with weapons trying to stop? Leave them alone.
I got an idea, everyone who has ever broke the 10 commandments or the ones who have subjected themselves to commit any of the Seven Sins should all go to and live their lives until they die in the FEMA prisons. Never to be released to society agian. Keep them locked up and throw away the keys. Makes sense to me. Then maybe we will all stop judging or passing judgement onto one another and only worry about ourselves and not what others are doing. People who try to live by the rules or make others live by others rules only cause havock.

Donna asks…
How can I help my girlfriend to stress free?
My girlfriend is not former smoker, sometimes the things/stuffs make her stress and she start to smoke to calm her stress down. I didnt want her to smoke, she wont stop smoking when stress came on to her. Is there a way to calm her stress down instead of cigerettes? Pls help me. Thanks.

Werner Michael answers:
Go for lots of walks, and make her a cup of chammomile tea.
Less sugar, less coffee. Good nutrition, calcium. Plenty of Omega 3′s. There are many good books written – but I would find a good one written by an MD who also knows some natural remedies, and I would give her the book to read. Be kind to her, maybe watch some funny movies – laughing is the best medicine. She also could maybe use a doctors appt., or have someone to talk to whose opinion matters to her. Good luck, she is lucky to have someone to care about her like you do! I wouldn’t nag her about the smoking, she probably feels bad enough about it as it is, and that would just add to the stress. I used to get upset with my husband when he would start smoking after quitting (more times than I can count). Finally he really did quit at the age of 51, for good. And it was nothing to do with me. I might as well have not been so disappointed in him all those times he couldn’t quit, because in the end he did quit. We just don’t have a crystal ball to see the future in, and sometimes good things do happen. Also, what is causing the stress? In my own case, it was a combination of starting menopause, an inherited nervous condition, and some personal problems (mostly always trying to be super efficient on the job with great difficulty!). Medication helped me a lot, but not everyone needs that, so it is good to try other remedies first.
